The $26 Hydrating Face Cream that Works Better than $400+ Products

You guys know that I'm all about splurging when necessary, but why spend extra moolah when you don't have to. I've featured this cream on SS before because it works wonders, and Good Housekeeping Institute can now vouch for me. They recently performed an independent test on Olay's Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and found that it outperformed 10 top prestige creams including one with a $440 price tag.
Solid hydration means everything to me so I love that this product's fast-acting and long-lasting.  At the 3-hour mark, GHI found that Olay moisturized 400% better than a cream nearly 18 times its price. They also discovered that it increased moisture by 50% on average over a 24-hour period and improved skin's texture by 10% in only four weeks thanks to powerhouse ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.
I like to use it on cleansed skin at night post-shower, but if I feel dry in the morn, I layer it on top of my sunscreen.  A little goes a long way so don't go too crazy - I recommend using a dime sized amount and patting it onto your skin in an upwards motion from your jawline.  Rubbing your face with a towel or your hands is a big no-no because it'll create fine lines.

IMO, this is the perfect everyday cream for woman of all ages.  It's rich yet absorbs quickly so there's no greasiness whatsoever.  I can pretty much guarantee that you'll wake up glowing.  I personally saw a big difference in my skin after just a couple of days - it left it even, silky smooth and seriously hydrated.
You don't need to spend an arm and a leg to look good, and this cream proves it!  My blog's all about living large on a budget, and this product truly allows you to do so.  You CAN pamper yourself like a celeb without spending an obscene amount of money and get a similar effect (if not better to be honest) in the comfort of your home.  Trust me, I've tried a lot of different creams in my lifetime - because I'm kind of crazy when it comes to skincare - but nothing beats the price + quality of Olay Regenerist.

Healing my Cracked Hands with Curél

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser.
All opinions are mine alone.  #EndYourDrySkin #WetSkinIsBestSkin #CollectiveBias.
I've struggled with dry skin pretty much all my life because I wash my hands a bajillion times a day and don't moisturize enough.  In a perfect world, I'd get my lotion on every time, but I'd skip because of piano.  I know that sounds super strange, but have you ever tried tickling the ivories with greasy fingers? It feels awful, and you seriously have zero control, which is a BIG issue when you're trying to"perfect" your craft to become a successful pro musician.
I've always been really self-conscious about my hands - not only did they feel awful, they looked awful as well.  I remember binge-watching New Girl (one of my fave shows BTW) with a friend a while back, and during the scene where Jess described Nick's hands as hooves, she turned to me and said, "kinda like yours."  She wasn't trying to be hurtful or anything, but it still made me feel bad because I knew it was the truth.
I didn't want to deal with ugly, cracked hands anymore so I decided to give Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer a go.  The combination of ceramides + Hydra Therapy is unlike anything out there and cures dry skin when used daily.  All you have to do is apply this on wet skin straight out of the bath and towel off afterwards!

When you shower, your skin cells expand like a sponge when wet, providing an easy pathway for it to all soak in and penetrate, leaving your skin baby smooth with no greasiness whatsoever.  I'm not going to lie to you, it's going to feel kind of weird at first!  I mean, I've NEVER applied moisturizer on wet skin before, but once you get used to it, you seriously won't use anything else.  If you're worried about dirtying your towels, don't because you won't get any product on there.
Now that my dry skin's cured, I can sport all the cocktail rings I have in my jewelry collection and feel confident doing so.  End your dry skin by purchasing this product and incorporating it into your post-shower regimen - available at Walmart here.

How-to Look Polished AF in 5 Minutes or Less

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Walgreens. The opinions and text are all mine.

Anddd just like that, we skipped spring and went straight to summer.  It's my fave season so I'm a little bummed, but I'll get over it - at least I get to wear cute mini-dresses and experiment with new makeup!  Anywho, Jordana challenged me to go to Walgreens and put together a summer for under $20 for their #BestBeautyBuyChallenge, and I don't like to toot my own horn, but I totally owned it!  3 products under $10 for today's FOTD (face of the day), what what!
I personally like to keep things extra simple when it's hot out - I'm talkin' minimal makeup, y'all BECAUSE I may or may not have had a terrible experience with foundation melting, like dripping off my face [insert weak laughter]. So without further ado, here are the three fabulous Jordana products I got:  their twist & shine moisturizing balm stain in nude chic ($2.99), their cat eye liner in black leather ($2.79), and their best lash extreme volumizing mascara ($3.49).  I didn't use anything on my skin because I wanted to let it breath, except good ol' sunscreen of course.
I used the liner to start, and it glided on beautifully - I felt like I had the utmost control during application, which is amazing because I'm not the best with liquid liner, ha.  I then finished my eyes off with 3 coats of mascara and experienced zero clumping (!!!!) which was all kinds of awesomesauce.
To wrap things up and incorporate a pop of color, I applied their moisturizing balm onto my lips. They only have one color in stock online (in sweet pink), but there are a bunch of other options available in stores for those of you interested.  As mentioned previously, I'm wearing nude chic, but I'm definitely going back ASAP to pick up the other hues as well, especially since Walgreens has a bomb promo going on right now: $1 off Jordana lip & eye cosmetics until June 24th.  Definitely take advantage of this deal while you can!
And voila! A finished shot of my look for you guys.  What are some of your current makeup must-haves?   A huge thanks to the wonderful Sung Shin for shooting these photos.

The Best Face Wash for Hustling Millennials

I'm all about hustling all day, every day to become the best version of myself, and that includes finding time to take care of my body, both inside and out.  It may be tempting to just pass out at the end of the day with a full face of make-up on, but you literally have no excuse now thanks to Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths.  They're convenient, affordable, efficient, and most importantly, effective.  You'll feel squeaky clean post face wash, which will in turn make you feel confident enough to sport a no-makeup look on the daily.
How to wash your face like a boss...

These wipes are textured with soft cleansing pockets to break up and lift away dirt, oil and makeup (even mascara) for a clean that leaves your skin gently exfoliated and smoother in texture.  The formula contains a cleanser, toner, mask, and scrub; the cleanser washes away dirt, the toner tones skin with an essential cleansing formula, the mask hydrates with specialized Olay conditioners, and the scrub exfoliates to smooth skin's surface.  Simply wet with water (no soap necessary) and rub to lather!  I personally have combination skin, but that's irrelevant info because these wipes are intended for all skin types.
Face wash tips...

These cloths contain hydrating ingredients that leave your skin moisturized, but feel free to slather cream on top if you're still feeling dry.  If you're using this product in the AM, remember to wear sunscreen afterwards.  FYI, it's best to apply lotions and the like immediately after cleansing to maximize absorption! Also, remember to rinse with lukewarm water - hot water may feel amazing on your skin, but it strips it of healthy oils leaving it sad and dry.  Anddd last but not least, pat your face dry with a clean towel. I always have two hanging in my bathroom - one for my face and one for my body - and I change them frequently to prevent breakouts.

Alright guys, that's it for today. I hope you found this helpful.  If you decide to give Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths a try, let me know how you like them - available for purchase here. Happy pampering!

Beauty Products that are Worth Your $$$...and the Ones that Aren't

I know it's been forever since I posted anything non-fashiony, BUT that's going to change drastically this month! I'm planning on posting a ton of stuffs on food and beauty so make sure you guys keep your eyes peeled.  I've been trying a ton of new products so I'm really excited to update you on what's worth $$$ and what's so NOT. Here's what I can't get enough of...
Bioderma Hydrabio Makeup Remover (pricing varies depending on size):  I don't know why I waited so long to try this out!  I swear by Bioderma now, and I truly believe that there's nothing better out there in the market, at least for the time being.  This product will remove ALL your makeup within 2 minutes, and your skin will feel ridiculously fresh and clean. I "double wash," but a lot of people don't because they view it as a leave-on cleanser.  I seriously can't recommend this enough!  Rating: 5/5.

Origins Ginger Bar ($16):  I'm a body wash kind of girl, but this soap changes the game.  It smells like heaven, and it moisturizes like nobody's business.  Although pricy, the bar's huge so it'll last you forever!  I've been using mine for months now, and I seriously look forward to bathing with it every day, ha.  Rating: 5/5.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Masks ($3.99 at Ulta or 6 for $15 on Amazon):  If you're a fan of sheet masks, and let's be real, we all are - or should be, ha - you'll love, love, LOVE Garnier's new SkinActive mask line.  They sell for $3.99 a pop on the Ulta website, but you can get a bundle for a fraction of the price on Amazon here (6 for $15).  I haven't had a chance to try each kind, but I really liked the hydrating (pink packaging) and mattifying versions (green packaging).  They'll leave your skin glowing, and you don't have to rinse it off afterwards which is a bonus.  I personally like to use it at night post-shower, and I layer on heavy cream for max moisture, but if you decide to use it in the AM, slather on sunscreen on top before applying your makeup (if you use makeup that is).  Rating:  5/5.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Makeup Removing Towelettes ($6.99 for 25 count): Obsessed with these towelettes.  I've been using one a night to remove my makeup, and it works like a charm!  After wiping off my foundation, I wet it with the Bioderma product mentioned above to thoroughly remove my eye makeup.  Rating:  4.5/5.

Bliss Body Butter in Grapefruit + Aloe, Maximum Moisture Cream ($29):  I've featured their body butter on here previously, but I gotta do it again because 1, it's a different scent and 2, it's just that good. For those of you who know me personally, you know that I have seriously dry hands (they're more like hooves), especially during the wintertime.  Well, this moisturizer has (very miraculously) cured the issue overnight - like, I'm not joking, my hands are smoother than a baby's bottom now.  I didn't have to wear socks on my hands or layer anything else on top.  I just rubbed a bit of this cream in, slept, and woke up with soft AF hands.  Do yourself a favor and grab a tube of this!  Grapefruit's perfect for summer, but if you prefer something else, there are a butt ton of other choices so go wild, frands. Rating: 6/5.

Aveda Purifying Scalp Cleanser ($35):  Aveda can seriously do no wrong in my book, and this cleanser is no exception.  I have super long hair so it's especially important for me to take good care of my roots, and this product expertly balances sebum levels while exfoliating.  It's made with their own pure-fume aroma (featuring grapefruit, neroli, cypress + other blooms and plant essences), and it smells ah-maaaaa-zing.  A must for at-home spa nights, and although pricy, a little goes a long way so this will last you months!  Squeeze out a dime-size amount and massage it into your scalp for a truly luxe experience.  Use code LOVE to get 20% off + free shipping.  Rating: 4.5/5.

L'oreal Damage Erasing Balm ($6.99):  If you're looking for an affordable yet effective conditioner for your mane, definitely give this product a try.  For $6.99, you get an intensive product that repairs split ends and rehydrates!  It's not my fave hair mask of all time, but it gets the job done without breaking the bank.  Apply a nickel-sized amount to your ends after shampooing and leave it in for 10-15 minutes before rinsing - use 3x a week for best results (in my experience)!  If your hair's extra dry, you can use this daily.  Rating: 4/5.

Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover ($26):  As a longtime fan of all things Urban Decay, I was beyond STOKED to hear about this new makeup remover line.  Although the cleansing oil stick SOUNDS awesome, it simply doesn't work.  It's formulated to remove "even the most stubborn waterproof makeup," but it doesn't even remove my foundation (????)  It's a 3-phase product that's supposed to transform from balm to liquid oil to microfoam, but I didn't experience any of that, ha. Save your moolah and get the Bioderma remover I recommended above.  You're welcome in advance! Rating:  0/5.

Bliss Fabulips Sugar Scrub ($18):  I could buy a lot of stuffs with $18, several cups of coffee, a cute new dress, a mountain of junk food, a delish meal at my fave restaurant...but instead I purchased this sugar scrub, which ended up being a total fail.  I get dry lips often so I wanted to give this product a go, but unfortunately, all it did was give me a greasy pucker.  Does it exfoliate well? Nope, nope and nope.  My toothbrush does a wayyyy better job for sure, AND I don't need to re-wash my face afterwards.  I'm trying a different scrub later this month so I'll update you guys ASAP - hopefully I'll have a better experience with Glamglow.  Rating:  1/5.

Applying Mascara Perfectly: Tips and Tricks

I was asked to participate in the #WalgreensMascaraDay campaign, sponsored by Revlon® at Walgreens.  Although I've been compensated, all opinions are my own.

In honor of Revlon® Mascara Day on April 30, I've partnered up with Walgreens for my latest post. For today's blast, I'll be sharing my tips and tricks on how to apply mascara like a boss.  I'm currently obsessed with Revlon® everything so I'll be centering today's article around 5 of their mascaras: Revlon Dramatic Definition™ Mascara, Revlon Ultimate All-In-One™ Mascara, Revlon Volume + Length™ Magnified Mascara, Super Length™ Mascara, and Revlon Ultra Volume™ Mascara.
Before I get into my tips, I'd like to tell you a bit about each product so let's get to it.  We're going to start with the Revlon Dramatic Definition™ Mascara - this smooth, flexible product coats lashes for clump-free separation - use it for bold lashes that impress!  To use, simply place brush at the base of your lashes and pull through - the tapered tip helps you reach lashes in your inner corner and lower lash line. The Revlon Ultimate All-In-One™Mascara is totally innovative because it delivers 5 lash-transforming benefits: volume, length, definition, lift, and intense color.  The applicator's unique because the mini oval shape is designed to reach each and every lash.
Revlon Super Length™ Mascara gives you, well, super length.  It's luscious formula glides on easily and builds quickly for a beautiful, extended lash look.  The brush stretches to deliver plush length, while the tip tapers to coat even the smallest of lashes!  Revlon Ultra Volume™ Mascara conditions while plumping, containing both short and long bristles to comb lashes and eliminate clumps. Andddd last but not least, Revlon Ultra + Length Magnified™ Mascara - this high shine black fiber formula provides serious volume and strength.  It has a Revlon Magnifying Lash Brush that's designed to anchor formula to lashes for intense volume!
Each one works super well so don't ask me for the "best one."  I'm going to tell you right now that it all just depends on the look you're going for.  Now, without further ado, let's get to today's main event:  mascara application.  Firstly, always use primer.  Yes, you could skip this step and rely on falsies, but primers provide a base coat for your mascara and enhance your natural lashes - trust me, they'll up your makeup game tenfold.  Second, mix and match mascaras.  I don't know about you guys, but I'm all about personalization!  Don't be afraid to create your own mascara cocktail - my fave formula is Revlon Super Length™ Mascara + Revlon Ultra Volume™ Mascara.  What can I say? I'm a proud mascara mixologist! Now, if you're worried about clumping when layering, don't because it's an easy fix.  Take a toothpick and simply separate your lashes one by one.
A few extra things to keep in mind:  do NOT pump the wand in and out excessively because it won't do you any good - you're just going to dry it out faster by pushing air into the tube.  And remember to wipe off your brush before application to avoid clumps.  Also, if you're looking for killer volume, coat BOTH sides of your lashes.  Oh, and eyelash curlers are your best friends!  Hold it in place for a good 5 seconds to get optimal curl.
Looking to up your eyelash game?  Head on over to your local Walgreens stat - they're hooking you up with a special BOGO 50% off Revlon® Mascara deal for Mascara Day on April 30.

Spring Hair Trends with Hair Cuttery: Video + BTS shots of Me Modeling

I'm SO beyond excited to share the first of many hair vids to come!  I don't know if you guys remember, but a while back, I modeled for Hair Cuttery and posted all about it on instastories. Anywho, I wanted to tease you all so I didn't share much, but I'm going to make up for it today by posting ALL the behind-the-shots pics I have! My lovely stylist did my hair up four different ways! For look 1, she gave me beautiful loose waves - you can see the full tutorial below.

For look 2, she gave me a bamf braid!  This was the most time consuming style, but the end result was all kinds of awesome.  I don't usually do my hair up fancy, but I think I'm going to put more effort into my mane from here on out because a stylish hairstyle elevates one's look like nobody's business.
Moving onto look number 3: a fabulous high pony.  A huge thanks to my stylist for helping me channel my inner Beyonce!  Who knew a simple pony could be so damn glamorous? I also loved that she used a section of my hair to hide the hair tie she used.
Andddd last but not least, the topknot.  Perfect for hot days or whenever you want to keep your hair out of your face.  Complements any and every ensemble - sport it with a sexy dress for a fun night out with friends or a casual tee & jeans combo for an effortlessly fashionable everyday look.
Which 'do are you guys loving most?  Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down? And a HUGE thanks to Hair Cuttery for the fun collaboration.  Make sure you guys subscribe to their youtube channel to see more hair vids! They share so much great content on their social media platforms so you should def. follow along:  instagram, facebook, and twitter.

Unboxing my February Glossybox

1.  Estee Edit Pink Peony Overnight Water Pack ($50):  I'm a huge fan of sleeping masks so I was beyond thrilled to find this overnight water pack included in this month's Glossybox.  Enriched with fruit and flower extracts, antioxidants, and other goodies, this mask hydrates & energizes while you get your z's.  I enjoyed using this product, but I honestly wouldn't buy this for $50.  I think AmorePacific's Moisture Bound Sleeping Recovery Mask is a MUCH better option, and it's only $10 more.  If you're going to splurge, I recommend going with the latter!

2.  Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat ($30):  One of THE most amazing topcoats you'll ever use.  Yes, it's steep at $30, but your mani will last 3x as long with this coating, AND your nails will look shiny as hell - a definite must-try if you're a fan of gel finishes!

3.  Jeanne Arthes Leu De Rose ($26):  Hands down, one of the most amazing fragrances I own!  I adore the scent, but it (very unfortunately) doesn't last long. Made exclusively for GLOSSYBOX, this perfume reflects the sensual, modern women.  It's refreshing and sophisticated by paying homage to girly femininity.  The full size is available for $26!

4.  Schwarzkopf Professional Smoothing Cream ($12.37):  I'm not crazy about this product, but you may have a better experience with it? My hair's not especially thick so this was overkill for me - I prefer lighter sprays - but if you deal with extreme frizz on the daily, this may work well for you.

5.  Eve by Eve's Lip Definer ($19):  I really wanted to like this product, but this was a definite no-go. I straight up hurt my pucker while using this.  Save your money, seriously!  If you feel like splurging, hit up MAC - I've always been a huge fan of their liners.  The new Maybelline Color Sensational liners are great as well, and they're pretty affordable - available at Ulta for $7.99.  They offer BOGO 50% off deals quite often so check back frequently.

CONCLUSION:  This month's glossybox was weak, BUT their box collab with Rituals was on POINT!  I highly recommend purchasing the latter - it contained several luxe shower products that I absolutely loved, and everything smelled heavenly.  A serious must for those of you who indulge in at-home spa nights.

My Current Beauty Faves

1.  Make Up Forever Invisible Cover Stick Foundation ($43): Screw liquid foundation, this is my new go-to.  I can't even begin to tell you guys how awesome this stick foundation is.  I own it in Sand, and it matches my complexion perfectly, like I'm talking second skin perfect.  I simply swipe it onto my cheeks, forehead and chin and blend it all in with a sponge.  The coverage is SO good that I don't even need concealer anymore.  Needless to say, I'll definitely be re-purchasing this product.

2.  Hottie By Nature ($19.95):  If you're a fan of essential oils, this baby's a total must-have.  The spray contains rosewood and citrus tones for a scent that soothes your spirit and boosts your confidence.  Spray it into cupped hands and inhale deeply for calming aromatherapy benefits or spritz it on post-shower as a lightweight perfume.  Available at ApolloBox! Use code KIM15 to get an extra 15% off.

3-4. Pixi Beauty Strobe & Bronze Palette by MaryamMaquillage ($20) + Strobe & Sculpt Brush ($14): This is, hands down, my current favorite face palette - andddd that's saying a LOT because I've been all about Anastasia's Contour Kit for a good 2 years now.  The kit comes with 3 highlighters and 3 bronzers that are to die for gorgeous, but I've been using Lex (to highlight) and Statuesque (to contour) together on the daily. I really can't recommend this enough - I can pretty much guarantee that you'll LOVE this item so pick one up STAT!

Now, I listed 3-4 together because they're a pair.  Pixi's Strobe & Sculpt brush is seriously magic! Made out of synthetic fiber, it does an incredible job blending your face to perfection.  The tapered side's ideal for applying highlighters while the other brush is designed for buffing and blending.  It's literally the ONLY brush I use now on my face.  Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

5-6.  Aveda Nourish-mint Lip Definer ($20) + Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip Gloss ($7.99):  Let's be real, there's nothing sexier than a killer red lip, and these products help you achieve just that.  I've always been a big fan of Maybelline's matte lippie line, but they totally hit it out of the park with Red Punch.  Pair it with Aveda's Tarragona liner for a bomb date night look!

7.  Palmer's FlipBalm ($3.99):  If you're looking for a fun new lip balm, scoop this item up ASAP. Available in three amazing scents, this product will moisturize your pucker like nobody's business.  I have Juicy Watermelon, and it almost smells good enough to eat!  Plus, the packaging's really cute - I love that it flips open - so I'm a fan.

Keeping it Fresh with Secret!

After 10,000+ hours of research with over 500 noses across multiple countries, Secret learned that 70 percent of women switch deodorants because they believe their bodies have grown accustomed to their everyday product. What's really happening is that the nose can go blind to the scent of deodorant over time, which makes some women feel less protected, and sometimes, less confident.
This March, they're introducing The Secret Fresh Collection, the first beauty product to ever feature the brand new patented fade-resistant scent technology.  It combats nose-blindness by resisting scent fade, while also providing long-lasting fragrance benefits for up to 48 hours.  The line features 11 dynamic scents and is available in both invisible solid and clear gel forms.  It's specially designed to last throughout your day, providing you with reassurance that your deodorant is working as hard as you do.

The all new Cool Waterlily scent smells absolutely heavenly - it's a sheer, clean fragrance mixing the nuanced floracy of the lily with unique green lily pad middle notes for the ultimate, upscale spa0like experience.  Invisible solid form features a proprietary sweat-activated technology that captures odor and releases fragrance, keeping you smelling fresh for up to 48 hours.
I'm beyond pumped to partner up with Secret for my latest beauty post on SS.  They sent me a box of awesome goodies, and I can't wait to tell y'all how they help me keep things fresh on the daily. Soooo without further ado, let's get started with La Fresh's limited edition waterproof makeup remover wipes.  In honor of their 10th birthday, they released special wipes that are gentle enough for all skin types and remove everything like a boss.  Generously sized, each pack contains 100!  Get 25% off your first purchase with code BabbleBoxx until 4/30.

Next up is my gorgeous FTD Bouquet.  Flowers are one of life's special pleasures for real, and FTD creates moments that lets those closet to you know how much you care.  Hit them up for all your special floral delivery needs whether it be a birthday, anniversary or just because.  Whether it's a dozen roses, lilies, or orchids, you'll be sending the absolute best!
Moving on!  Tree Hut's Bare Moisturizing Shave Oil pampers like no other.  Jojoba oil and grape seed oil help seal in moisture, promoting healthy skin all day every day!  It's uniquely formulated to provide enhanced contact between the razor and your skin for a smooth shave without nicks or cuts. This is seriously one of the most amazing products I've ever used.  Your body will feel SUPER smooth afterwards! Hashtag treat yoself.
Last but not least, 21 Drops' Detox Essential Oil Blend.  They've pioneered the modern experience in essential oil therapy, offering one a healthier way of living every day.  Their solution is pre-blended with distinct essential oils that come together in organic jojoba oil to uniquely treat a particular concern or aspiration.  These blends work in synergy to deliver on their targeted promise for a healthier mind and body!  Cardamom refreshes, geranium purifies, juniper flushes out toxins, and lavender soothes nerves.  Purchase a vial for yourself here!

A huge thanks to Secret Fresh Scents Deodorant for sponsoring this post.

January Beauty Favorites

1.  RG Collagen Shampoo + Mask:  I've been using this shampoo + hair treatment for the past 2 months now, and it's helped my mane tenfold.  It smells like heaven and smoothes like a boss. The formula contains argan oil and silk amino acids that treat and protect your strands, leaving you with ridonkulously soft hair.  If you're looking for new hair products, give this line a try!

2.  Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme ($25):  Hands down, the most amazing hand creme I've ever used!  It pretty much cured my cracked skin overnight, which is all sorts of awesomesauce.  Plus, it smelled magical so there's that!  Also, you can feel good about splurging on this product because $4 of it goes to support cruelty-free research through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (!!!)

3.  Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation ($12.99):  I can't even begin to tell you guys how awesome this product is!  It works JUST as well as Amore Pacific's version yet costs a fraction of the price.  It gives my skin good coverage, and it's convenient for touch-ups on the go.  I use warm nude, and it matches my skin perfectly.  I'm definitely sold! I'll be repurchasing this over and over again.

The following products were sent to me to review as a judge for the AOL lifestyle winter beauty awards.  Click to see a list of all the judges!

4.  Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches ($48): If you guys have dry skin like me, you've probably experienced a strange tightness around your eye area.  It's not super uncomfortable or anything, but it's hella annoying.  These patches have really helped though, and they conveniently stay fixed on my face so I can go about doing stuffs!  Hashtag hustler problems. TIP:  Put them in your fridge for a cooling effect that feels great + helps with puffiness.

5.  Super Goop CC Cream ($32):  I absolutely loved this CC Cream.  I got it in light/medium, and it complemented my skin tone beautifully.  I'm all about this product because it gives me a natural but flattering finish - think my skin but better, ha.  If you need extra coverage, correct spots with dabs of concealer on top!

My Daily Skincare Routine

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post called "My Everyday Make-up Essentials," and since then, I've been getting requests via email to share my skincare must-haves as well.  I figured I'd tackle that topic today since I haven't blogged about beauty in a while.  So, you all know me as a "sensible" person.  I don't splurge unless I think it's necessary or 200% justified.

Skincare is one thing that I don't mind spending money on.  Not everything I use is expensive by any means, but if I find a pricy moisturizer or serum and think it's completely legit, I'll buy it in a heartbeat. I don't go out and get facials though.  In fact, I've never gotten one in my entire life!  And on top of that, I've only gotten ONE mani and pedi professionally done, and that's because someone decided to treat me to it.  However, I'm all about treating myself at home (relevant posts:  My At-Home Spa Routine & Give Yourself the Perfect Mani:  Must-Have Tools), and I'm a stickler when it comes to both my morning and nighttime regimens.  Without further ado, let's tackle the former:
My Morning Routine:

1.  Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser ($19.50):  The first thing I do in the morning is wash my face with this cleanser.  I like it because it's a gentle yet effective exfoliator.  It's perfect for the morning because my face is already clean - the only thing on it is residue from the products I've used the night before.
2.  Instanatural Vitamin C Facial Toner ($15.17): After washing my face, I spritz on some toner.  I like this product because it's refreshing and easy to use.  I don't have to rub it in or anything - I just spray it on and let it sit before applying my daily moisturizer.  TIP:  I like to store it in my fridge for a cooling effect!
3.  Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer SPF 15 ($8.99):  Then, I pat on this sunscreen.  I've used several different kinds, and while many are good, I'm team Olay because it's moisturizing, protective, AND available at Costco in bulk.  You know me - I'm a sucker for a good deal!  This everyday moisturizer gets the job done FOR sure.  Garnier also carries a nice one!  If you're looking for something a bit more high-end, try this product from Shiseido.
4.  e.l.f. Eye Refresh ($3):  The skin around my eyes gets pretty dry so I always make sure to use eye cream or gel to keep the area nicely hydrated.  The last thing I want is to get crow's feet!  TIP:  do NOT rub product in unless you want to get wrinkles.  Use one finger and pat gently - rubbing is a serious no-no.
5.  C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve ($7.50):  Last but not least, I swipe a bit of this onto my pucker to finish my morning routine off.  It does a great job hydrating my lips, and it smells divine which is a huge plus. If you're going to spend the day out basking in the sun, I recommend using Supergoop's lip screen since it's SPF 50.

My Nighttime Routine:

1.  Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover ($5.99):  As you guys can see, my nighttime regimen is WAY more rigorous than my morning one.  I start by diligently removing ALL my eye makeup with a tissue. Like I mentioned earlier, this area's super sensitive so it's important that you pat and avoid rubbing at all costs.  I've used a lot of different removers in my lifetime, and nothing works as well as this.
2.  e.l.f. Make-up Remover Cleansing Cloths ($3):  If I'm wearing any kind of face make-up (ex. foundation, concealer, etc.), I make sure to remove it all pre-wash with these cleansing cloths.  I'm a stickler about removing make-up because I don't want to clog my pores or mess up my skin.  And on that note, always, ALWAYS make sure you wash your face.  The worst thing you can do to your skin is sleep with a face full of makeup.  At least take a second to wipe your face with a cloth!
3. Shiseido SWL Brightening Cleansing Foam ($35):  Then, I wash my face with this cleansing foam.  It's definitely on the more expensive side, but a little goes a long way so it'll last you months!  It's by far my favorite nighttime cleanser because it removes ALL residue with its BAMF lather.
4.  Queen Helen's Mint Julep Mask ($4.49):  This is seriously my go-to when I break out or feel super oily.  I either use it as a spot treatment or leave it on my entire face for about 15-20 minutes.  I can't recommend this mask enough! It's been in my arsenal for YEARS now, and it only costs $4.49.
5.  When Sheet Masks ($7):  Sheet masks are an absolute must in my book - they do WONDERS for my skin so I always have some handy.  I like to experiment with different brands at my local TJ Maxx, but if I'm looking to really spoil myself, my go-to is the When Travelmate sheet mask.  Simply peel off the cover, put it on your face for 20-30 minutes, and then apply cream on top.  Use 1-2x a week for best results!
6.  Lancome Tonique Confort ($44):  After masking it up, I apply this toner on top to soften my skin.  I prefer to use this product at night because it's much more hydrating than the Instanatural one mentioned above.  It's a bit more expensive, but you'll feel like a total queen using this because it's really luxe! TIP: if you live near an outlet mall, check to see if they have a Cosmetics Company factory outlet.  I go to Grove City often so I always grab this when I'm low in stock.  It's substantially cheaper so take advantage, especially during blowout sales.
7.  Creme de La Mer Moisturizing Cream ($85-465):  Now THIS is the epitome of a splurge.  I've purchased this about 2-3x total; it's done WONDERS for my skin but serious damage to my wallet.  If I buy this, it's because there was a huge promo going on...or my face needed serious R&R, and I mean SERIOUS.   There are a lot of other great creams out there that are far more affordable, but nothing quite stacks up to this.  It's like the freakin' Lamborghini of face creams.  TIP:  Sometimes Costco SELLS this for a fraction of the price (!!!!!) It's still really expensive, but it's far cheaper than Nordstrom or any other high-end retailer.  You gotta keeps your eyes peeled though - they sell out FAST!
8.  Olay Regenerist Sculpting Face Cream ($25.99):  A really solid face cream that I use frequently.  I bounce from product to product because I like trying different things, but this is definitely one of my go-tos. My skin's fairly dry so my main concern 99% of the time is hydration.  This quenches my skin like a boss so if you suffer from the same predicament, give this item a try!  Like the aforementioned sunscreen, this is available in a pack of 2 (or was it 3?) at Costco.
9.  Amorepacific Moisture Bound Sleeping Recovery Masque ($60):  Hands down, the most amazing overnight treatment you'll ever use.  Apply a thin coat - think dime size - over your moisturizer and let it work its magic. Formulated with 5-Hydra Complex (a potent blend of Asian botanicals that deliver mad hydration), this product is lightweight and luxe.  I use this about 1-2x a week when my skin feels extra dry.
10.  Kiehl's Midnight Recover Concentrate ($46):  Another fabulous item that helps me combat dryness!  This replenishing nighttime oil regenerates, restores, and replenishes skin like nobody's business.  The Kiehl's site tells you to apply 2-3 drops BEFORE moisturizer, but I prefer putting it on after.
11.  Vaseline:  To finish off my nighttime routine, I slather on good ol' fashioned vaseline on my lips! If you want something fancier, try Hourglass' No 28 Lip Treatment Oil.

My nighttime hydrating routine is as follows:  sheet mask or washable mask, toner, cream, and oil or sleeping mask, and in case you're wondering, I usually use masks 2-3x a week max.  Many of these products have been long-time favorites of mine, but I'm always trying new things so keep an eye out for my monthly beauty favorites. You can also binge read my beauty archives if you're interested!

Also, as important as my beauty regimen is to me, THE most important thing - and I can't stress this enough - is living a healthy lifestyle.  That means no smoking, drinking in moderation, eating healthily, sleeping consistently, and exercising regularly.  If you treat your body like crap, you'll look like crap regardless of what you use on your face.  You can slather on bottles of La Mer and it won't do jack unless you're being good to yourself.  Remember, your body's your temple!  Treat it so and your results will be glorious.  To access my posts regarding health and wellness, click here.

How-to Get Mistletoe Ready

I'm totes excited to introduce you guys to editor-in-chief of Yahoo Style, author and host Joe Zee today on Sensible Stylista.  He's taking over (via video) and giving y'all amazing tips on how to get holiday ready this season.
Some additional tips for you guys:

1.  Go all out and make a statement:  Have some fun and step out of your comfort zone!  Seek a statement piece - maybe one you typically wouldn't wear - a funky jacket, a big piece of jewelry or a bold tie, and add it to that holiday look.  This is the fastest way to add pizazz to your ensemble.  It's also an easy way to take a look from day to night which is important during the busy holiday season.
2.  Start with the winner:  Know what makes you feel food and play it up!  Throw on that pair of shoes or that specific skirt that gives you confidence and always makes you feel like a million bucks and make it your signature piece for the holidays!
3.  Let it shine:  Embrace the sparkle in you!  Metallics and shine are a huge trend right now so add sparkle to your everyday look.  Try a sequin trimmed tee with a pencil skirt or add a metallic belt + shoes.
4.  Layer that LBD:  Take this simple staple and turn it into something new for each occasion. Consider it a blank slate you can dress up and down with layers, fabric textures and awesome accessories.
5.  Look the part from head to toe:  Being well-groomed is just as important as what you wear!  Take time to pamper yourself before your holiday event.  Reflect on how you want the holidays to unfold, don't just let them happen.  This will make sure you're at your very best.  Take a luxe bath and leave time for grooming.
Man, I'm SO glad he talked about grooming.  I'm all about treating myself so at-home spa nights are a total must. Lucky for me, these products available on Walmart.com/mistletoeready to help me get my pamper on.  So, without further ado, let's take a look at what's inside my pretty package!
1.  Gillette Venus Swirl Razor and Cartridges ($10.75):  You guys have no idea how much I needed this.  My razor was super old, and I was running out of cartridges so I was beyond pumped that this was included in my toolkit. Not to mention, Venus has been my go-to for YEARS now - it gives me the closest shave possible without nicking and all that garbage. Soft skin is super important to me so moisturizing after a good shave = bliss.

2.  Oral-B Pro White 1000 ($29.90):  After trying this toothbrush out, I don't think I can ever go back to anything else...but then again, I'm kind of cray when it comes to dental hygiene.  This brush does an amazing job keeping my pearly whites clean.  The in-handle timer pulses every 30 seconds to let you know when to switch areas, and it's clinically proven to break up and remove more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush.  Walmart.com's currently offering a $15 mail-in-rebate so make sure y'all take advantage (valid until 12/31).

3.  Crest 3D White Whitestrips ($36.99):  As much as I love wearing pretty jewelry, I truly believe that my best accessory (by far) is my smile!  These whitening strips are def. a must for me. I used to drink a ridonkulous amount of coffee daily so my teeth suffered.  I actually decided to stop drinking it entirely a month ago, but I still need these to keep everything in check.  You'll see results in 3 days, and full results will come in 20.  They'll remove 14 years of stains (!!!) delivering professional-level teeth whitening results for a fraction of the cost.  Andddd the best part? It's all SUPER safe so you  don't have to worry about damaging your enamel.

4 -5.  Gillette Fusion ProShield Chill Men's Razor & Braun Series 3:  These two items are for guys so I'm not going to review them!  I'll be gifting these babies to my pops though.  I'm sure he'll appreciate 'em.  FYI:  Now's a great time to stock up on basics since Walmart.com's offering a bunch of P&G products for a fraction of the price.  See the full list here!

Alright guys, that's it for today!  If you guys have questions about any of the aforementioned essentials, just shoot me a message.  Also, I want to take a second to thank P&G for sponsoring today's latest. Cheers, everyone!
